Typically my playlists come at the very end of the month, but since Christmas is just days away, I put together my favorite not-so traditional Christmas songs. I could really listen to these at any time of the year, but they just feel a lot more special during December, ya know?
1. Christmas at 22 | The Wonder Years
For my fellow college friends who feel a little nostalgic during this time of year.
We're visiting some friends I haven't seen since August
To catch up on all the things we missed while we were in college.
We'll find a house party when the bars close
And I'll drive all my drunken friends home.
2. I Had A Heart | Real Friends
For the guys and gals who are going through a tough break up or heartache. I feel you, I get you. You'll get through this.
I remember how Christmas used to be,
Before she spat me out.
And left me to roam this empty place.
3. Flurries | August Burns Red
From their holiday album, an instant instrumental classic in my mind. I love listening to this with hot cocoa and a warm blanket.
4. Yule Shoot Your Eye Out | Fall Out Boy
For my friends who are overcoming that bad relationship and realize they're better off with that person, because the best revenge is bettering yourself ... after a spiteful song or two :)

5. I Won't Be Home For Christmas | blink-182
For the slightly cynical Christmas-goers who grin and bear their relative's nosey, intruding questions and probably spike their eggnog.

It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year
I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer.
6. Christmas Lights | Yellowcard
For my friends who love a damn good Christmas song that just makes you feel better about everything.

And like some drunken omen singing, I go singing out of tune

7. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas | Reliant K
For my friends who enjoy a good cover of one of their personal favorites, because I know this is mine.
Through the years we all will be together
If the fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
8. All I Want For Christmas Is You | My Chemical Romance
For my emo-at-hearts, this will always remain on any Christmas playlist I ever make. Gerard, you make our little hearts swoon.
Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to see my baby standing right outside my door.
I'm not sure if I'll have another post up before Christmas and New Years, so if not then happy holidays and enjoy your winter breaks for those lucky enough to have them!
